- HOTEL DESCRIPTION . The Gore compritree-lined avenue just a stone's throw from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Situated directly behind The Royal Albert Hall, it is only 10 minutes walk from Harrods and Knightsbridge and yet only 5 minutes from the West End and theatre district by either public transport or taxi. It boasts two award winning restaurants and a popular bar open to non- residents as well. . The Gore manages to maintain that knack of being first and foremost an hostelry with an atmosphere that remains both unpretentious and friendly, whilst fulfilling the expectations of an international hotel. It offers the personal touch that comes from true dedicated owner- management. HEALTH CLUB/FITNESS FACILITY . There are a wealth of fitness and health clubs nearby though the hotel has corporate membership with the Imperial College Health Club which is 5 minutes due East. . There is a nominal £2.00 entrance fee though this will vary depending on your chosen activity. These include sauna and steam rooms, whirlpool, stairmaster, life cycles, life row, treadmills, free weights, nautilus equipment, squash courts and swimming pool. . The hours are 7:00am to 10:00pm. SPORTS & RECREATION . Horse Riding: The stables in bathurts Mews between Lancaster Gate and Paddington Station are 3 miles away. They will hire out horHyde Park or organise instruction. Rates from £24.00. . Boating: Located on the North bank of the Serpentine just 1 1/2 miles from the hotel, rowing boats or pedal-o two seaters may be hired by the hour during Summer. Rates from £5.50 per hour plus deposit. . Roller Blading/Skating: There are many broadwalks in Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park for this pleasure. Blades can be hired from Slick Willies in Kensington High Street. . Jogging: 650 acres of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens just a stones throw from the hotel. . Swimming: Use the nearby facilities of The Imperial College Health Club or some of the many other pools in the area. . Any other activities can be either arranged or sourced by our Concierge at the hotel.
